The Photo Mentor is an online learning environment to gather, learn and share knowledge and photographic skills.
We encourage a friendly, fun atmosphere where no one should feel intimidated or frustrated. Our gatherings cover a wide range of creative and technical topics from the most basic steps to more challenging tasks.
There are plans for many diverse types of The Photo Mentor learning “classes”. For now we will be offering two levels of sessions.
1)-Our Introductory Classes are for the person who wants to learn the basics of photography and start to explore the possibilities of their digital cameras. The goal is to unleash your creative ideas and make your camera and photography in general easier to understand. The Intro Classes are set of 6 sessions long. We are confident after an Introductory 6 Class course; you will have the skills to continue learning in our Long-Term Classes Intermediate groups if you choose to continue.
2) –Our Long-term Courses start with similarly experienced learners and will meet once (or twice) a month for as long as the group wishes. There is no long-term commitment required by you. You can join a group for a few months or stick around for years as we continue to learn together. These are open ended groups that will continue as long as a minimum number of students continue. The cost of these gatherings are based on each session.
-We in the future will have Individual Recorded (versus live) instruction on specific topics. These à la carte lessons can be purchased to view at any time.
ThePhotoMentor learning environment has been founded by professional photographer Dave Chidley. Dave has been teaching all levels of photography groups for decades. Our regular Photo Instructors and guests are masters at their trade and have been selected for their ability to share / teach their ideas in an easy-going and enjoyable atmosphere. 3) -Special Events. We have plans for Special Event single sessions with world-class Guest Mentors covering wide-ranging topics. Topics that you ask for! We have many, many contacts and associates with unique skills and abilities that would be of interest to any and all photographers!
